H1N1 Nightmare

Last Thursday was an ordeal that I don't want to go through again. The growing numbers of H1N1 cases has made us very wary. Moreso for Ate A who just came back from the Philippines. She was really nervous that she might have contracted the virus while she was there. To add to the "games" playing on her mind, she had a cold. Wednesday night, Pre asked me to pass her the thermometer. He wants her to be at peace. She was really scared after watching TV Patrol that when I asked her if she wants to go for a check up, she said yes. The next day, Thursday, I asked permission to work from home so that she can have her peace of mind with a checkup. Her temperature before she left the house was 36 something. So for me, it was just routine, I just want to give in to her wish. Well, also to make sure that the girls were safe. I got a call from her that the doc wants to send her to the hospital. Huh?! Why? She said that when the doc took her temp, she had 37.6. Still, I argued with th...

Arghhhh Neighbors!

I thought that we've found our jackpot. We've got good neighbors that talks to us (the other just nods), kababayan neighbors, more or less the people on our floor are quite friendly and errmmm clean. Anyway, our woes started way back but I didn't mind then but when thrash piles up near where your compressor is, it's not good. It's not neighborly. Somewhere up there are a bunch of people who doesn't have manners, who litters and throws their trash on the window. If it fell on the ground floor, I wouldn't have minded probably since the cleaner will see it and clean it, I guess. But, it got stucked on our level! We've had all kinds of trash, from papers to tissue papers (I don't want to think about it!) to plastic of rotten food! Pre cleaned it a few weeks back and thought of putting something clever so that it won't hit our rails. But, last week, there was this strong winds that hit Singapore and he had to remove it. Anyway, the trash came ...

The Saga Continues

Or not. Life is too short to waste. To cut the story short. We managed to get our way after an email to the owner informing her that we're bringing our case to the Small Claims Tribunal Court. We still feel cheated but we're so wasted thinking about this everyday. The day after which was Saturday, we managed to get the deposit but our agent didn't come. She asked a colleague who lied and turned out to be her husband to pass the cheque. Wahhh, they just never stop. Anyway, it's over. I don't want to dwell on it too much. Today is another day... The aircon installer came today and they hacked the flat away. Pre said that it looked bad. Hopefully, when I get home later, it will still look like that flat I left this morning. Wish I can fast forward everything to the time when everything is already in place, already clean and no more boxes to unpack. I still have 3 boxes to unpack.

This Cannot Go On

We called our ex-landlady and asked for the deposit. Tried to be firm that we want it back. She said that she has the quotation already and it's 1KSGD! Huwhatttt?! That's 1KSGD for the whole tabletop of the kitchen, not only the part she complained about! We asked her to be fair. It's too much. Here we are at the losing end no matter what. We should only be paying part of it (eeekkk I don't even want to pay anything but this will just go on and on if we don't compromise!). She said no! OMG! We are giving them a new counter! And come to think of it, when we took over the place, it's almost peeling! And just because we didn't complain about it --- now, we're suffering!

After A Week

We're settling down bit by bit. Boxes were unpacked (only left a few more), we're now eating on our dining table, eating home-cooked meals once again. Backtrackking. There were some mishaps. Gas was terminated by City Gas even though we talked to Sp Services to do a transfer. And, they had the gall to ask for express installation fee when we summoned them to come over. Of course, I called them up and asked them to waive! *kahit sa prinsipyo man lang* Sobrang perwisyo at abunado pa kami!!! We couldn't cook, we couldn't even boil water for Bebi A's bottles. It was such a pain! Then, there's the story the Ate A's wardrobe which we bought from Carrefour. It was "sira"! (na medyo sland --- that's how Bebi A talks these days hahaha), one door was crushed and it would be bits of wood after sometime. So, of course, I would call them up and I complained. They said they would call me back! Hmmm... They didn't. I had to call them back. Their reason wa...

We're Moving

Yes, we're leaving our home of 3 years and starting a "new life" somewhere in the West of Singapore (where the air is cooler and we're a few meters away from the mall and the library and... ok enough... hahaha) I was feeling sentimental the last few nights when I got home from work, no matter how it always feels like we're in the oven when it's sunny. We've had a lot of good memories there. Relatives and friends came to visit us and we had a wonderful time. I saw Bebi A grew up from that tiny, skinny baby to a wonderful, chubby toddler. Dawter T had her 3 years Pre-School in a nearby Catholic Pre-School. Pre had the time of his life going back and forth to his 2 buses away office in Bradell. Oh, we'll surely miss the place, the friends and good neighbors we've had. (Goodbye to Auntie M who is like a grandma to my two girls, she's a wonderful neighbor! Imagine, she gave us new boxes for this move! And, made fish curry for my mama!) Huhuhu, I ...
