He

turned 11 today. Happy Birthday, Dear K! He's my cousin, one of Tita E's son whom I babysat when he was still young. Love, love this boy! I used to sing YOU by Karen Carpenter to him and he'll fall asleep (maybe he doesn't want to hear me sing! hmp!)

Blast From The Past

Cousin R sent me some pics from her 4th birthday. She's such a cute kid! But, what rocked me here is my cousing J (far right) --- look at the slippers he's wearing --- pink! Mind you, when you see him now, he's totally NOT on the other side (if you get what I mean!) As for me, I am wondering if this was the year when my they cut my bangs very, very short! I just look like Bebi A, I was telling Sister C that this is probably the image of Bebi A when she grows a bit more. Another startling discovery, we often say that Dawter T is from Pre's side of the family. But, in this picture of Sister C, the eyes and the expression just looks like Dawter T. Look at the egg trays there. Those were not hard boiled eggs but inside those egg shells were the yummiest gelatin made by Lola C. I miss those too! One of these days, I will ask her how those were made. Hehe. I miss my brother and my cousins! And, I miss being this young!

She's All Grown Up

She's my very first inaanak. I used to baby sit her. I used to take her and her sister at the nearby grocery in Binan. I used to hide the remote control from her. I used to tease her a lot. And, now, she's all grown up! I love this picture amongst all the other pictures of her debut. There's something about the way Tito B was looking at her while his hand was ( a. scratching his head b. covering his temple c. shielding his head from rain hehehe joke lang po). It felt like tito B was telling himself --- "Huh, 18 na anak ko!" while Tita E was looking mighty pleased at her first born who doesn't look like the MOD (mother of the debutante) --- more like a sister. Masasabi ko lang, wahhhhhhhhh, I missed the fun and the whole hulla-boola! (Credits : Rhonna Farrer Color My World Digikit)

Amidst the sick

Last Friday night, my tita slept in the hospital (she's taking care of our lola who's confined). Saturday morning, she couldn't find her hand bag anymore. Inside the bag were her cards, some bank certs, handphone, and her family's passports with their newly stamped US Visa. Go figure. They managed to see the person in the security camera. Then, after a few hours, someone called and informed them that he found her bag in a thrash can in Makati. He said he saw the "man" throw the bag. Verdict : Only the wallet without the cash was found, the bank certs were there. But, the handphone, 2k pesos and the passports were gone. Someone told me that there are "people" who will extort money in exchange for the passports. Grrrr! Pano ba tayo aasenso nito?

Reunion

I managed to touch base with one of my "ates". It has been a long time. There was some misunderstanding because of my wedding, maybe it went a longway back, I don't know. I spent 5 years with her before she moved to the US. I remembered that card she sent me when I was 6 or 7 years old. It was a card with a picture of Mickey and she promised me if I follow my Mommy and Daddy, I will surely meet him one day hehehe Those were the days when I will write notes to her to ask for "something" and will be so giddy once the balikbayan box arrives hehehe I missed her. Much more than I can say. She's family, after all. I wish that she can one day meet my family. I am asking her to come by and visit Singapore (in progress, I can be makulit if I want to). I just hope that this continues and that there won't be anymore rifts in the future. Life is too short.
