Hey July!

This blog seems to get updated monthly. Haha. Funny... July is almost always the busiest month for the family. With three birthdays at home *hint* and birthdays of family memebers around the globe. Just dropping by to say HI. It's been raining and I am lazy.

Sunday Afternoon

2008's memories

Until now, I couldn't come up with my 2009 resolutions sans stating the obvious hehehe 2008 has been a great year for us and I wanted to hold on to that... Family Matters. We've been blessed with a home we can call our own. No more landlord battles. And, we wouldn't feel like crying every month when we're paying our over priced rent. We're all happy with the new place. It took some getting used to but we're very comfortable now. We found good schools for both Dawter T and Bebi A. Dawter T is starting Primary school while Bebi A's stepping into Nursery. They are both going to Catholic schools. Papa and Mama came to Singapore to help us out with Dawter T. We feel blessed that the two girls were able to spend time with them. Tita E and Tito B came with their children and spent a week touring around Singapore. Those were one of the best weeks of my 2008. Work. Pre is still with the "bus" company. Hehe. Though commuting from our new place t...

Bonding Time

Grabbed this from Sister C's blog. Don't they look good together. My mama could pass for her mom! We too had a girls' day out last Saturday (minus Dawter T who slept over at her cousin's house). We were supposed to go to Orchard but got sidetracked and went to IMM. Hayyy, don't I have enough of Jurong? Hahaha...

When Life Is Complicated

I have them.

Season of Hope

Good things happen to us during Easter. After all, it's the season of hope. It's something that made me reflect on the goodness of the Lord. After the heartaches, we too had our own little victories in life. Oh, please don't get me wrong, I still sulked at times (my hubby will probably say --- most of the time hahaha) when things don't go my way but I want to remind myself of the countless blessings we've received. Jesus has risen. And, he suffered not for his own glory but because he loves us so much and wants to save us from our sins. Happy Easter

This Week Of My Life

The week started without my Tagalog tele-serye. Yes, I vowed to stop watching after Ysabella ended hehehe I vowed to stay away from the tv at night and just be with the "3" kids. Hahaha. So far, so good. I had a very interesting week at the office where my boss and I talked about my performance. I was quite disappointed with some of his "thoughts", I felt that it was very subjective especially when he had to name people who he thinks we should gang up with but I really really don't like. He said that I cannot choose my users. True. But, he's not a typical user, he's out to get our bloods (He always have to brag that he's rubbing shoulders with the head of all heads whenever we have meeting with him! As if that will scare me off! Hahaha!). Even though my blood was close to boiling point, I quickly signed off my appraisal form. Let's wait and see how "good" the result is in a few months. What got me spiffy are the little thing...

Day 15 : Don't Worry, Be Happy

Another work week has passed. And, by Monday, I have to slay dragons and go through dungeons. Bring it on! I don't want to think about it anymore, almost got into a fight with a special person because of that. Anger aside, just want to end this week with this picture. No matter how odd life seems to be, there's always these 3 people in my life who will make it pleasant. Happy Weekend! *** The pic was taken at Marina Square last Sunday while watching remote controlled tanks compete. Hehe. Sorry, can't remember the term!

Day 4 : New Dawn

One door closes, another one opens. 'nuff said. Still couldn't fathom the turn of events but I'm sure tomorrow is a better day. As what they say, time heals wounds. Haha. Isang araw lang katapat nyan.

The 2 Week Challenge

This is what I've been waiting for since the start of the month. My 2 weeks vacation. Of course, people at the office can still call me. It tends to come with my job - the "on call" thing. Anyway, Ate A will be going home tonight via Cebu Pacific. So starting tonight, I will be a stay at home mom. I can't wait! I know it's not easy but I am up for the challenge!

Staying Put

We've decided to stay at our current place. The owner brought the price down to a "reasonable" price compared to what he initially asked. The price will definitely put a dent to our household budget but it's the price of the flats that we've viewed recently so I guess it's reasonable with a quote. Thank you for all your prayers.

Frustrated

We've started checking out flats for rent and everyday I get agitated on the prices that I see in the newspapers or in the internet ads. I can't believe that HDB flats is now at 2K+ high. We've viewed a total of 5 flats so far but one was really crappy and they're asking 1.5K for it. To top that off, they advertised it as "nice". Please don't get me wrong, though I am very picky on flats I live in, I try not to be pintasera unless really "provoked". I guess that flat hit my limit. I wish these agents will get more information first before advertising anything so that their time and our time won't be wasted. And, I really hope that relevant authorities will look into the housing situation soon. Though owners are increasing rental prices, our salaries stay the same.

Who said I don't have time for fun?

Last Thursday was Sister C 's company's movie night. Just like the other years they had it, we tagged along with her. This year's movie was Spiderman 3. (Spiderman movies hold a special memory in my heart coz Spiderman 2 was the first movie that Dawter T watched on the big screen. ) Though I missed Maging Sino Ka Man, the company, the nachos made up for it hehehe *** All day long, Mader L and I waited the work day to end because we have gimik after almost 3 years (that long, huh!) We met Mader L and Ninong Mah before 8:30 at Glutton's Bay. Then, a few minutes after, Mader M and R arrived. We have a delicious meal, the food was so good that we were silent as we ate it and I think we ate it for 20 minutes tops. (talk about gutom!) After dinner, since the girl's plan was to cap it with fondue at Haagen Dazs which didn't happen hehehe the girls just hopped to the nearest Starbucks while our hubbies went for their liters of beer at ??? (forgot the name of the bar!)...

The Holy Week

I miss spending Holy Week in the Philippines. I miss the tradition or reverence for the Passion of Christ that my mommy has instilled in me. During my early childhood until late teens (before mommy got sick and died), mommy, has honed us to observe Lent. During the season, there would be Stations of the Cross (one station, one house) in various houses that we would go to. We will leave after dinner and end up close to midnight. This would take from the bayan" (Binan's center) then almost at barangay De La Paz (is it barangay? not really sure hahaha). Fourteen houses to go to then at the 14th station, the hosts will usually provide some refreshments. (hmmm. i can see my hubby snickering and saying out loud that i just join them for that, hee hee) Then, on the Holy Week itself, Holy Mondays and Tuesdays might have a procession or two, or longer prayer time because the Stations of the Cross was recited. Holy Wednesdays are meant for this procession that have a lot of S...

Remembering 2006

1. We went back to the Philippines for a vacation. This is the first time my girls are going to the Philippines. We prepared them for it, especially Dawter T who is scared of flies. I was very excited because I haven't been back since my wedding. We had fun with our relatives. Managed to get to know my in-laws when we stayed with them. 2. Bebi A turned 1. We had a carnival themed party. We tried to make it carnival-like. With cotton candy and popcorn booth, games and food. My lola, my mama, two aunties and sister D came and help out with the preparation. 3. Dawter T @ Pre-School We talked to her a lot that she'll not be with mommy and daddy at school, even at the school bus. Our Dawter, the ever independent, didn't even shed a tear when her school bus picked her up the first time. It was the mommy who held back tears. She liked school, hates it when we tease her not go. 4. New Job Transferred at a new workplace mid year. Truly blessed to have been selected. But, I had troub...

Last Christmas

This year was spent with potluck dinner with families in color coded shirts, FILA sandals courtesy of a benefactor of St. Michael's Church, and two friends and their family who will be migrating down under. We came in late, as usual. Ate the sumptous buffet spread then went to mass. For the first time, since we joined in, we managed to get front row seats at the church. After that, we went back to Friend B's house to exchange gifts with our other friends and took silly 2x2/ala-Korean telenovela pictures. We went home sated and happy then woke up early to prepare for our Christmas mini-party with Pre's barkada which started at 2pm and ended at 10pm. Tiring as it was, I was contented to see my family enjoying Christmas.

Hiatus

I've been on a blogging hiatus. Not because I forgot about it. But, I was so very busy. 3 weeks ago, my two daughters got sick one after the other. Thinking about it makes me want to thank God all over again that they are now up and well. Mid this month, my aunt and uncle came for a visit. We brought them around during the weekends and met with them during the weekday nights. Two days before they left, my aunt's daughter, one of my fave cousins, came for a vacation. She's still with us as of this writing, we're trying to influence her to stay so that we pig out on her homemade salsa and relyenong itlog. My kumare's blog shouted out my sentiments at work. Well, I am trying to like it. I make myself very busy so that I don't have time to think of negative thoughts (read : resign). However, when I went to my ex-office, it brought back "I want to resign" feelings. Oh well, just have to move on. I just have to think that I can claim my daughters' medic...
