Christmas blues

I sometimes feel deflated that my kids won't be able to know the traditions Pre and I grew up with. I may be sentimental because Christmas is near. But, deep in my heart, I am questioningour decision to bring up kids far from the motherland. Some thoughts I have. Though there's TFC, my kids still don't know what parol is (However, Pre is volunteering to make one). Dawter T is a picky eater, what if bibingka and puto bumbong suits her tastebuds? And although Bebi A sleeps early, what if Simbang gabi is something she would like to do? It's a different country, alright. At this time of the year in Pinas, you'll constantly hear Christmas songs on the radio. Most houses have put up blinking lights (dito ang mga meron ay yung mga nagcelebrate ng Deepavali hehehe). Hayyy kakamiss. Wish I'm home no matter how sad my past (post Mommy Julit/Daddy Roging) Pinas Christmases were.

Bits and Pieces

It has been so long, I am still trying to recover from the most exhausting month of my life. It was both exciting and tiring (well, tiring mostly) but I managed to survive, my household survived. Just some updates in our lives, hmmm, my daughters' lives. I'll start off with Bebi A. She has grown a bit. And, has been eating a LOT! I couldn't fathom how a small toddler like her can pack whatever she's taking in. But, she has it all I want in life --- food and she doesn't get fat! Hahaha (icompare ba daw sa anak...) She's starting to mumble some coherent words, some of the most prominent are Ba-Bye, Ma-ma, Da-di and Te. Everybody who meets her tells us that she's like sunshine. Also, she's becoming a tv addict, in the mornings, she gets the remote control and mumbles something "blah blah blah" and points to the tv. As for Dawter T, she has finished Nursery last Friday. I couldn't imagine that a year has passed. She got good grades, her teacher

The PET Phase

She has gone through Barney, Elmo, Hi-5, and lately, the Disney Princesses. Both she and Bebi A likes to call out the dog at the flat in the first floor, never thought that we would come to this phase --- the buy me a pet phase. She probably wouldn't have gotten the inclination from me --- because I am not an animal person, well maybe a little bit from Pre. I am guessing that she got the idea from cousin C who visited us late September who has 7 dogs and who constantly talks about them like they were her babies (even planned to buy a bassinet of sorts for her doggies). So, maybe it was 2 weeks ago when she called me up and surprised me, "Mommy, I want a rabbit." "Ah, uhm, maybe you should call daddy" So, she called. Answer was negative because Pre said rabbit smells. I suggested a fish. But, Pre said it's hard to maintain. Then, two days ago. She talked to Pre. This is not the actual words but I am guessing, she said it like this. "Daddy, I want a pet.&

Too Soon

Dawter T has always been inquisitive about things. She asks a lot of questions which I attribute to her quest for knowledge. She's a bright girl, if I may say so that she observes things that we usually ignore. (Take for instance the optical shop at Plaza Singapura, near Carl's Jr. Check it out if you pass by one of these days, what number is missing in the poster?) However, there was one question which I couldn't answer right. Not that I don't know the answer but I don't know how to give a good answer to her. I guess even if you have prepared for the answer years ago but when it pops up, you will surely get rattled. "Mommy, how do you make babies?"
