Camera Shy ang Dalanang Pilipina

My S$15 top! My one and only picture during the Dinner and Dance (told you minus the face)!

Sisa at Chinatown

Though I've lived here for 8 years, I have never really been to the other parts of Chinatown aside from People's Park or the mrt. Mareng M brought me there and opened my eyes to a lot of goodies. We went there to piece a costume for me that will look "Filipina" (our company's DnD is on Saturday and the theme is Around the World). Managed to find an "el cheapo" peasant blouse that has an overlay of a "non-Pina" Barong material. I wanted to go for Maria Clara look but I think Sisa is more plausible (I got the loudest laugh from my classmates when I portrayed Sisa for our declamation piece in my 2nd year HS - the laugh was even before I spoke nyahahaha so believable, I guess). The question --- is it Sisa before she lost Crispin and Basilio, or the Sisa after? Haha.

Five Years

At 5

Today is the eve of Dawter T's 5th birthday. I couldn't help but reminisce about how she grew up from this jaundiced baby that I had to leave in the hospital to a girl who is vibrant and full of questions and who wouldn't want to be left alone. She's Cinderella's number 1 fan but is now discovering Kim Possible and Totally Spies. She likes to play with the computer, she sometimes uses it to draw using MS Paint or to surf Barbie's website. She doesn't want to be called baby because she's now an older sister. She likes to sleep holding my hand. She loves scrapbooking with me and my friends. She's very good at doodling and was kidding my Mareng M that she'll have her own line soon. HeHe... She's even better at stamping than me. She likes school and doesn't want to skip it even if she's sick. She doesn't sleep early. She sleeps at 11pm (the earliest). She's a very picky eater. Takes her own sweet time to finish a meal. But, eats...

Me! Me! Me!

Last night, I created an LO using the picture below when Bebi A happened to see it. She touched it and said "Me?!" "No, it's me!" I told her. It was really me when I was Bebi A's age. The similarities will not be able to deny that Bebi A is my daughter hahaha I just hope that my bubbly and sunny bebi will not get the mom's sumpong(s). This is one of the few baby pics that I have. I used to have 3 baby albums but one of the worst floods that hit Pinas also took away my memories. Now, this is Bebi A.

Bird Park

Wednesday night. I bribed my two girls to sleep early by telling them that we will be going to Jurong Bird Park. Dawter T has been there a few times but the lure of going out has is a massive "upper" for her. Bebi A, on the other hand, has never been there. She was always left behind because it's a major production to bring two hyper active girls on a trip like that, especially with visiting relatives. (Baka parati lang kami hintayin hehehe) Since she turned 2, she has become a good company. I guess seeing things for the first time also made the adults see it like it's their first time. So that night, when I told them, Bebi A kept on tossing and turning and every so often will say "Bird Park?!" She was so cute. Until she feel asleep saying it. The next morning when she woke up. "Bird Park?" then waved her hand like a flying bird "Tweet, tweet, tweeeeeeeeeeeettttttttt!". ----"Yey!"

Staying Put

We've decided to stay at our current place. The owner brought the price down to a "reasonable" price compared to what he initially asked. The price will definitely put a dent to our household budget but it's the price of the flats that we've viewed recently so I guess it's reasonable with a quote. Thank you for all your prayers.

When All Seemed Like a Lost Cause

When agents tells you that your budget is for a 2+1 flat, but then you won't be allowed to live in a 2+1 because your head count exceeds 4. When the washing machine is enthroned in the masters bedroom's bathroom. When agents are asking you to pay 50 or 60 bucks just to view the place. The owner calls with a better offer than the last. Truly, God's hand at its best.
