Who said I don't have time for fun?

Last Thursday was Sister C 's company's movie night. Just like the other years they had it, we tagged along with her. This year's movie was Spiderman 3. (Spiderman movies hold a special memory in my heart coz Spiderman 2 was the first movie that Dawter T watched on the big screen. ) Though I missed Maging Sino Ka Man, the company, the nachos made up for it hehehe *** All day long, Mader L and I waited the work day to end because we have gimik after almost 3 years (that long, huh!) We met Mader L and Ninong Mah before 8:30 at Glutton's Bay. Then, a few minutes after, Mader M and R arrived. We have a delicious meal, the food was so good that we were silent as we ate it and I think we ate it for 20 minutes tops. (talk about gutom!) After dinner, since the girl's plan was to cap it with fondue at Haagen Dazs which didn't happen hehehe the girls just hopped to the nearest Starbucks while our hubbies went for their liters of beer at ??? (forgot the name of the bar!)...

McDonalds Adult Party

We bid our farewell to Mareng B last Saturday. It was all girls kiddie party at McDonalds, since we won'tbe able to celebrate her birthday with her, we decided to advance it tied to the despedida. Due to my busy schedule (o diba, showbiz na showbiz?), I was not able to follow up on McDo at the time that we wanted, around 6pm. So when I called 7 days before the event, the slot has been takenup. What did I expect? So we were left with an 11AM party. Mareng B was quite curious as to why we're meeting this early. She was so surprised. We asked her to blow the candles of her oh so tiny cake hahaha Then, Auntie Monica asked us to join the games. Hala, ang saya nga mga bata! E nanalo pa ako, so doubly fun! I now know Dawter T's feeling whenever we get to the party late and she was not able to join any games. We then ate our feast, mine was Chicken McNuggets with all the sauces that McDo has to offer. Haha. Sarap pala pag party because all the sauces are out there for yo...

Leaving for good

My close friend, Mareng B is leaving SG for good. Our history goes back to the time when we first came here. We were roomies then until the time she got married. (We got married the same year, had our first babies the same year --- 3 weeks apart, we're ninangs of each other's kids) She's always there for me and never gets tired of listening to my woes and my triumphs. We were also officemates for 6 years, only last year did we separate ways -- workwise. Though it saddens me to see her go, it's also time to celebrate and be happy because they are about to reach their dreams. I wish her and her famiy the best in their new life down under. I won't say goodbye because we'll see each other again. Don't forget my boxful of TimTams hahaha Wab u!

Different occasions

Here comes the bride Bebi A's Ninang got married last Thursday. We hobbled over to the reception after work. Ninang F was radiant in her white dress. You wouldn't guess that she was up all night and was harassed most of the day. To R and F, Congratulations! Stay in love! Blow the candle Last Thursday was also Tita A's birthday. May all her wishes for her nth year come true! Goodbye? Or See you later? Last Saturday, we sent off our friend J with a dinner at Sizzler. I know that she's excited and all to see her better half and to start her new life down under. But, I feel quite sad that I wouldn't be seeing her anymore in our parties and get-together. People come and go in our lives. And, though there's distance, friends stay in our hearts and minds. We won't be able to forget them because they are part of us. Mareng J, I won't say goodbye. See you later. Hopefully, sooner than we think. Mwah.

Last Christmas

This year was spent with potluck dinner with families in color coded shirts, FILA sandals courtesy of a benefactor of St. Michael's Church, and two friends and their family who will be migrating down under. We came in late, as usual. Ate the sumptous buffet spread then went to mass. For the first time, since we joined in, we managed to get front row seats at the church. After that, we went back to Friend B's house to exchange gifts with our other friends and took silly 2x2/ala-Korean telenovela pictures. We went home sated and happy then woke up early to prepare for our Christmas mini-party with Pre's barkada which started at 2pm and ended at 10pm. Tiring as it was, I was contented to see my family enjoying Christmas.

Hop, Hop and Away

Yesterday was our surprise potluck despedida for our friend, b1. He's migrating to melbourne, australia this coming saturday. His family will be left behind for almost 4 months. He needs to find a job first and settle down. After all the fun we had last night, I suddenly felt sad. I hate changes, I hate goodbyes. Though we'll probably see each other again once or more in our lifetime. I really felt it won't be the same as living in the same country. We had our moments. Aso't pusa kasi kami. But sometimes, we get to be on the same side. We like the same US shows. We both like to eat a lot. We like to argue and prove we're right hahaha Then, when his family moves, I'll miss his very charming wife J, my smart inaanak, D and his kid brother R. Ganun talaga buhay. Sometimes you want to have consistency, but then, we have to move on to plant our roots and grow. So long, my friend.
